Why should I evaluate your child?

Your child struggles at school and doesn't focus well so you get them tested and it is ADD or ADHD and the professional gives you suggestions and feedback on how to help your kid.  Let me guess, here it is:

  • Sit child near front of classroom

  • Extended time on test

  • Graphic Organizer

  • Breaks during state wide test after every 30 min

Was I right?

My daughter got tested and the generalized suggestions they gave were laughable to a teacher.  This is NOT to cut on the Doctors or any other professional who test kids and give suggestions.  They are NOT in the classroom and they are not in the trenches.  They don't really know how the real classroom works.

One year, I had 6 kids in my class diagnosed with ADD and all were recommended to sit at the front of the classroom.  I had 4 seats at the front.  And to put all ADD kids in one area is not good classroom management.

You see, a professional giving suggestions just goes to the database of accommodations and list whatever fits for that diagnosis.  I would too if I were them

But, I am different.  I have seen and been there for 30+ years and I know middle schoolers and I know what will NOT work and I can suggest things that will at least help (anyone that says they have all the answers for your kid is not being upfront).

I can create lesson plans that will fit better based on your child, you, and your family.
